Taking care of your children is one of the most challenging tasks of a parent. You need to consider a lot of factors, and foremost among this is their health. However, as you may sometimes be extra busy, you might neglect to focus on this. Here are three simple tips to make sure your kids are always healthy, even if you are sometimes too busy.
Encourage Your Kids to Wash Hands Thoroughly
Washing your hands is a simple but often neglected act. When your child is out playing, he picks up a lot of dirt and bacteria. Encourage and remind him to always wash his hands after playing. You, your children, and the rest of your family should always thoroughly wash hand before eating, especially when dining in restaurants and outdoor venues like beaches. Not washing hands properly can expose your kids to gastrointestinal problems, as well as respiratory illnesses. To make sure their hands are properly cleaned, teach your kids to wash them for at least 20 seconds.
A Well-Balanced Diet is Essential
Make sure that you give your kids a balanced and healthy diet. As much as possible, you should be the one to prepare their food. Use fresh and healthy ingredients. Educate them about why it is important to eat healthily. Minimise their intake of junk food and sugary drinks. Train them to drink 6 to 8 glasses of water every day.
Sleep is Essential
Your kids should know the value of a good and restful sleep. As young as possible, train your kids to sleep early and inculcate in them the practice of getting at least 10 hours of sleep every night. To make this more interesting, try to establish several pre-bedtime activities like drinking a glass of milk, brushing their teeth, washing their face, praying, and reading a good storybook.
